The 2013 Costume Institute Gala- The stylist goes inside

    One of my favorite nights in fashion took place last night. The Met Gala in New York City was held on May 6, This years theme was Punk: Chaos to Couture. I must say I was very underwhelmed with everyone's look on last evening. It seemed as though no one really listened or understood what the theme was. The Met Gala is the time when the industry is supposed  to take us there, they are supposed to go over the top and Give us fashion. I was bored. There were a select few who I said ok, I can deal, but overall no one really gave me the life that was needed.

I want to discuss a few of the Looks and share my best and worst dressed for the Evening.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian: 

Kanye looked great, Kim.....Oh Kim, this is the worst I've seen her look, Definitely my worst dressed choice,This dress was not flattering on her at all. The print was way too much for her to pull off, she looked like furniture and why the gloves, it made her look like she had no hands. We all know Kim can do better than this.

Beyonce:

My dearest Bey, What was this exactly? I love me some beyonce Knowles Carter to Death, Everyone who knows me knows I go hard in the paint for the Queen, But MOTHA, this was not it. First of all lets discuss this HIDEOUS belt, why????? The belt look like it came from Hot topic, Those boots were Horrid, and those Gloves Looked like Tina Knowles made them real quick an hour before it was time for her to leave. The enitre look just gave me cheap, the patent leather at the top was just unnecessary. I think Bey should have sat this was out and stayed on tour. Definitely my 2nd choice for worst dressed. Still Love you Bey, just not this look.

Nicole Richie:

What about this says punk? I'll wait

Gwen Stefani:

Gwen gave great hair and make-up as always, those two things alone gave me Punk. This Dress not so much. She doesn't look Bad at all, but I just felt she could have pushed the envelope a bit more because Punk is what she embodies as her image.

Madonna:

Madonna definitely got the memo that it was Punk, However I would have loved to have seen her give me more Couture. A nice full tulle Skirt with this jacket would have been Amazing, it would have been punk with     the couture element. I do appreciate the fact that she listened and followed directions to some degree.

Jennifer Lopez

OH Jenny, I love you. My thing with Jenn is that she never EVER looks bad However I feel like she never takes a risk, How many times have we ween this silhouette from her? I really want something different. Her hair and make-up are ALWAYS on point.

Anne Hathaway

Best Dressed hands Down, she gave me everything I needed. this look was perfect, it was Punk AND glam at the same time. Definitely Nailed it. She gets a 10
