A curve above the Rest

As a wardrobe stylist I come across many different woman with different body types, and I believe being a GREAT stylist and shopper is about being able to dress various shapes and sizes. The number of woman with body conscious issues still shocks and surprises me. I get so many clients who won't even try certain things on because of their weight,  or because society has told them "big girls can't wear that.

The fact of the matter is,  it's not what you wear but how you wear it, example some say women of a certain size shouldn't wear leggings, false, it's all in how you wear the leggings,  now; should they be worn with a belly shirt,  probably not because it wouldn't be the most flattering.

The key to dressing no matter what size you are is to dress for your body type.  The problem with most curvier woman is that they try to hide their curves,  Huge mistake. When you hide things,  you're typically bringing more attention to yourself, A. Because it's obvious you're trying to hide and B. hiding actually makes you look larger than what you are.

You are in control, you wear the clothes they should never wear you.  If you have hips accentuate your hips, there are great ways to do this,  my Favorite is the Peplum top,  Pairing a peplum with a nice fitted jean not only accentuates the hips but it's actually slimming at the same time. Pencil skirts are great also, not only are they great for your hips, because they Hug and hold everything in, but with a great pair of heels it does wonders for the legs. ( also a great pencil skirt should be just at the knee, this with a nice heel gives a great silhouette)

Another great styling tip, I get woman all the time complaining that their boobs are too big, well again hiding them is only gonna make u look like you're wearing clothes that are too big. A great way to accentuate your cleavage is to get add a belt to your waist,  this does two things A.) Synching the waist makes the waist look smaller and it pushes the cleavage up.

I just want everyone to feel comfortable and confident, that's my Job as a wardrobe stylist. I feel that society thinks that just because she's a curvy girl she can't be cute also, and that is simply not the case. I also don't want my Curvy girls to think that. Ladies you have the right to look and feel sexy also. If you have any Questions on Styling tips or how to shop  for your body type, hit me up at RashiPinckney@gmail.com
